It is a kingdom of gigantic rocks, huge dump trucks and other special equipment…and, of course, of dust and metal scraping. However, here one can observe the birth of new biocenoses, and see how the ecosystems are being formed “from scratch” – the first shoots of poplars, the first ground beetles, the first birds.
Talking to the workers in the Quarry – young men, who love their job – added to our knowledge treasury. They informed us about when the first little forest, a poplar group growing in one of the cracks, appeared at the bottom of the Quarry; how many stray dogs live in the area; which birds appeared the first, and which appeared after a year or two; and when the first hedgehog was caught.
